Welcome to Clitheroe & District Caledonian Society

About the Society

Founded to promote Scottish culture and traditions, the Clitheroe & District Caledonian Society brings people together through dance, music, and friendly social events. We welcome dancers of all ages and abilities — from complete beginners to experienced Scottish country dancers.

What We Do

Weekly Scottish country dance sessions

  • Regular Monday and Friday evening classes
  • Social gatherings and seasonal celebrations
  • Special events including Burns Night and St Andrew’s
  • Support for Scottish cultural activities in the Ribble Valley Whether you’re looking to learn something new, stay active, or simply enjoy good company, our society offers a warm and welcoming environment.

New to Scottish Dancing?

No experience? No problem. Our sessions are relaxed, friendly, and guided by experienced dancers who are always happy to help newcomers. You don’t need a partner, special clothing, or prior knowledge — just enthusiasm and a willingness to give it a try.

Membership

Membership helps support our events, hall hire and the running of the society. Members also receive discounted entry to selected dances and socials.
